Fundraising campaign for refugee school and kindergarten children from Ukraine
The war in Ukraine is causing a lot of suffering and putting many people in distress through no fault of their own. Especially those who actually need special protection are affected: Children and young people.
In order to give the children who have fled to Cologne a little piece of everyday life and to make it easier for them to attend school, the idea was born to organise writing and school supplies. From this impulse, a large-scale relief action grew up in a very short time in June 2022.
All members of the Association of the PBS-Markenindustrie were called upon by yellow design to donate school supplies to be distributed to refugee Ukrainian children in children‘s homes and schools in the city of Cologne.
The distribution of the donations was taken over by the non-profit association Blau-Gelbes-Kreuz, which has already been providing active voluntary victim assistance for Ukraine since 2014.
The aid campaign was supported in organisation, communication and logistics by yellow design, whose employees were also active on the day of the handover with their combined forces. At the end of the campaign, 5 large vans filled to the brim with donations were handed over to the central warehouse of the Blau-Gelbes-Kreuz.
On the day of the handover, the Chairperson of the Blau-Gelbes-Kreuz, Linda Mai, together with PBS Managing Director Volker Jungeblut and the Managing Director of yellow design, Prof. Günter Horntrich, were able to see for themselves the great success of the campaign.
Special thanks go to all those involved for the positive dynamics of the relief campaign and the large amount of donations.
The prompt distribution of the materials is intended to encourage the refugee children and young people in their difficult everyday lives and to encourage all those willing to help to support, participate and imitate.
